Austin Walker
A graduate of the University of Georgia in Journalism, Austin began his career at CNN headquarters in Atlanta in 1981. His career includes 16 years with ABC, 7 of that as a promotion manager overseeing creative services, promotion, and public service. He spent 6 years in Charlotte, NC as lead post-production editor at Corporate Media Services, where he worked with Bank of America, Wachovia, US Airways and other large corporations either directly or with top ad agencies.
Austin is the creator and producer of American House of Fire. His lifelong interest in firefighting stems from his brother, George Walker, who recently retired after 30 years of service in the Fulton County Fire Department in the Atlanta area.
Austin is the father of two, and an avid writer. In 1997 he started Luminous Ink to publish his novel The Universal Chromosome. In 2007, he left broadcast management and created his own production company under the same name. He combines a variety of creative skills, from writing to editing to graphic design. As a result, American House of Fire is more than just as a series of emergencies, but rises to the level of good storytelling and compelling TV.
